Delta Clearwater

This past weekend I went on an overnight canoe trip with a rather large group of friends. We do this same trip every year as a rite of passage into spring, where we celebrate the fact that the ice has melted and the rivers are beginning to flow again. We start on the Delta Clearwater River and after a few miles join the Tanana River. All told I think the trip is only about 12 or 13 miles.

Although the forecast called for snow and rain, we enjoyed some sunshine and stayed dry. It did sleet a bit during the night, but I thought it sounded kind of nice against the tent.

As usual, everyone had a great time.
