Electronics Recycling

This morning I volunteered at an electronics recycling event in town. We collected people’s old computers, TVs, telephones, etc. so that instead of going into the landfill as hazardous waste, the lead and mercy (plus other contaminants) inside such items gets recycled and used again rather than seeping into our groundwater. It was a beautiful day to be outside with temperatures close to sixty degrees all day!

Below, Will destroys a hard drive so that the data on it cannot be accessed, and some other volunteers help unload electronics from a truck.
